The new Johnson Street Bridge in Victoria, B.C. officially opened to traffic on March 31, 2018. The new bridge is the largest single-leaf bascule bridge in Canada – and one of the largest in the world! It maintains half of it’s bridge deck for pedestrians and cyclists, while still allowing for three lanes of vehicle traffic. The bridge serves as the largest infrastructure project undertaken by the City of Victoria to date.
Precision Bolting provided custom designed Superbolt Torquenuts (MT-03274) to pretension the high strength rods in the truss field splices that join the truss structure to the ring assembly.
